How does Invisalign work?

Aug 28, 2017

Invisalign® is an innovative teeth straightening method using nearly invisible, clear plastic aligners. A popular choice among teens and adults, Invisalign offers a number of benefits, while still achieving the same remarkable results as traditional metal braces. That’s why your orthodontists in McMurray are providing more and more patients with Invisalign.

Here’s how it works

At Severns Dentistry and Orthodontics, your happiness is our goal. The wonderful part about Invisalign is that we get to customize each step in the treatment process specific to your needs.

For instance, first we custom make Invisalign aligners for you. You’ll wear each aligner typically for one week. As you wear the aligners, subtle pressure will be applied in the right places to cause your teeth to shift, either vertically or horizontally and even rotating when need be. Each week you’ll switch to a new aligner. It’s that easy.

But that’s not all. Invisalign is a lifestyle choice for its ease of use:

  • The nearly invisible appearance of the clear aligners means you won’t feel self-conscious about how you look while under treatment
  • They’re removable! No worries about what you’re eating and drinking. You simply remove the aligner and then reinsert them later.
  • Easy brushing and flossing. Daily oral hygiene is a breeze since you have no brackets and wires to work around.

Have a teen? Teenagers love Invisalign for clear reasons.

Your teenager has enough daily pressure between school, sports, and extracurricular activities. They last thing they want to worry about is missing practice or class for frequent dental appointments involved in traditional metal braces and the hassle of adhering to a certain diet. Not only that, teens tend to rush through their oral hygiene, not taking the time required to thread flossers around wires in order to clean away bits of foot that inevitably gets lodged. The result is irritated, swollen, and bleeding gums that leads to gum disease and tooth decay.

Invisalign is the way of the future.

Prevent teeth crowding, making it easier to clean your teeth. Keep your gums healthy by winning the fight against bacteria. Make an investment in you and your child by choosing Invisalign.
